Midnight MAACness

Midnight MAACness is a pep rally to kick off the start of the basketball season. Each year Alumni Gym is decked out for the theme while the whole campus piles in for this fun night! We perform our routine for all of our peers and really get to show our Rider Spirit! This year the theme was Caesar’s MAACness…notice our Grecian outfits?

Code Cranberry

Code Cranberry is a program run by Rider Athletics. Each sports team will play a ‘Code Cranberry’ game where all the other teams come out to support each other. This really creates a sense of Rider Pride among the athletes and we have a great time doing it! We kicked off October by cheering on the Men’s Soccer team for the first Code Cranberry event of the year.

Workin' at the car wash

Our first fundraiser of the year was a car wash held during the first weekend back on campus. Not only was this a HUGE success for us it was such a fun day to bond as a team. Now we are one step closer to our new pom poms, travel and competition fees. Thank you to all who supported us!

Pictures for Pyper

Throughout everything we are involved in it is always important to stop and take a moment to help out others. At our practice RU Cheer had a great time taking Pictures for Pyper. Pyper is a 6 year girl living away from home while she receives chemotherapy in a Tennessee St. Jude's hospital fighting a brain tumor. She is OBSESSED with cheerleading so to lift her spirits and cheer her on in her fight us and many other teams have taken pictures to send her way! GO Pyper GO!

Smart on & off the mat

We love when we get the opportunity to recognize just how amazing our team members are. Not only are we all talented on the mat we are just as successful in the classroom!

This weekend one of our junior cheerleaders, Vicki, attended the AAG Middle States Conference in York, PA. She presented her year long biogeography independent research on the climate in Kansas from 1950 to 2010. Her future work will determine why there is great temperature variations in a single state, and how the variations in temperature and precipitation will affect the production of wheat.
Great work Vicki, we are so proud of you!

Bows, Bows, Bows!

A shipment of brand new practice bows, what could be more exciting?! We can't wait to show off our beautiful accessories! Thank you to Cheer Bows And Beyond for doing such a wonderful job and matching our 'Rider Cranberry' color perfectly!

A weekend of excitement!

This weekend was an exciting one for Rider University Cheer! We got to cheer at our first Men's game of the season ending in a WIN against Kutztown! We also participated in the reveal of announcing Rider University's new Guinness World Record for the longest line of fruits! To top it all off it was Family Weekend on our campus so our families got to experience everything with us!

Miss Apollo

Rider Cheer got the chance to perform for the Greek community at Tau Kappa Epsilon's Miss Apollo pageant! Congratulations to the winners and to TKE for raising money for a great cause, we were so happy to be involved in this event! We love any chance we get to perform but doing so on our very own campus is always our favorite. *Check out the video of this performance on our Facebook page ‘Rider University Cheerleading’.

Uniform Excitement

Brand. New. Body suits. C’mon now, we are a team full of girls so of course we were SO excited to add a new piece to our uniform! A busy weekend filled with a basketball game and exhibition routine at the UCA Northeast Championship was the perfect opportunity to show them off. We hope you like them as much as we do!

Social media progress

Wow! We have made it to over 100 followers on Instagram! Growing our social media presence continues to be a goal of ours this season so surely this is only the beginning of our Insta-family. Thank you to all of our supporters for always keeping up with #ridercheer! If you don't already be sure to follow our Instagram account: @rideruniversitycheer. While you’re at it Like our Facebook page, ‘Rider University Cheerleading’.

Student athletes

Each semester Rider holds a Student Athlete Academic Achievement Night at a home basketball game. This night recognizes student athletes who have earned between a 3.00 & 4.00 GPA. We are so proud of all of our cheerleaders who were recognized! This is yet another testament to the high standard we hold ourselves to not only as cheerleaders but students as well.

STUNT night

What do we do when cold & flu season gets the best of our coaching staff? Snuggle up on the sofa to watch STUNT videos, of course! Sure to not waste a minute of our time Rider Cheer took the night to watch videos and review counts in preparation for our upcoming STUNT competition. Being productive while bonding as team, what could be better??
Curious what STUNT is all about? Check out this website as well as keeping up to date with Rider Cheer to watch our progress for competition season!
